At each of its Spring and Fall Conferences, magistrates give back to the communities where the conferences are held by volunteering at local non-profits and/or collecting donations. These rewarding activities have benefitted the following organizations:
2025 Spring:
The charity selected to benefit from the spring conference is The Gathering Place in Athens, Ohio . We will be recognizing the charity at a BINGO Night at the hotel on Thursday night at the Spring Conference, a member-operated, non-residential, peer recovery organization that serves adults who experienced trauma, or are experiencing a mental health issue or a co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder. They provide peer support, linkage services, advocacy, mental health education, recreational and wellness activities, opportunities to affordable housing, access to healthy food, and community integration opportunities. “The Gathering Place” was started in 1976 by patients released from the state psychiatric hospital (during de-institutionalization) and concerned community members.
2024 Fall:
The charity selected to benefit from the fall conference is People In Need, Inc. of Delaware County Ohio (PIN), a private,
not-for-profit 501(C)(3) social services agency dedicated to providing emergency assistance to Delaware County residents. For more than 40 years, PIN has provided families and individuals with a nutritious, well-balanced diet during their time of need.
2024 Spring :
The charity selected to benefit from the conference is the Community Cup Classic Foundation; it was created to
improve adult engagement in all facets of a young person’s development. Their work creates avenues where youth are shown
appreciation by those within their community, their social groups and most importantly by those that reside in their homes.”
