The Holmes County Court of Common Pleas General and Domestic Relations Division is hiring a part- to full-time MAGISTRATE. (Designation of part- or full-time employment will depend on the skill and availability of the successful applicant)
Applicant must be an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio for four or more years, demonstrate good writing skills, possess excellent verbal, listening and leadership skills, and be in good standing with the Ohio Supreme Court. Knowledge and familiarity of office and case management software including Microsoft Office, Outlook and CourtVIEW is preferred.
The Magistrate will preside over cases and hearings as assigned by the Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, and may also be tasked with duties such as researching, reviewing, analyzing, and/or providing a summarization of matters before the court. The primary responsibility of the Magistrate will be to preside over domestic relations matters, but may occasionally preside over civil or criminal matters when the Judge is unavailable. The Magistrate will have the benefit of personally scheduling the matters for which he or she is responsible. The Magistrate will also enjoy the opportunity of conducting a substantial portion of hearings remotely.

Salary shall be commensurate with the skill and experience of the successful applicant. Salary is also dependent upon the designation of full- or part-time status.
